“Rodin: In His Own Words” exhibit to visit Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, NM— Some of Auguste Rodin’s bold impressionistic pieces that have been displayed in museums around the world will be at the Las Cruces Museum of Art.

Beginning September 5th and lasting through November 23rd, people can come and view some of his various bronzes, a selection of photographs and portraits of Rodin, and original journal entries and letters by the artist.

One piece that will be featured is the well-known sculpture, The Thinker. There will also be an educational exhibit on the lost-wax casting process. The pieces on display showcase the wide range of Rodin’s artistic work, studies, and figures.

The event is organized and made possible by the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Foundation. The exhibit will be open Tuesday’s through Thursday’s from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday’s from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
