The 28th Annual Whole Enchilada Fiesta Promises to be the best yet

Las Cruces, NM – What do you get when you combine 750 pounds of stone ground corn, 175 gallons of vegetable oil, 75 gallons of red Chile, 175 pounds of grated cheese, and 50 pounds of onion. … the worlds largest enchilada.
This year’s Whole Enchilada Festival will take place on September 26th through the 28th and will have plenty of activities to fill the three day schedule. Two stages will feature live musical performances with a variety of Tejano, Country, and Classic Rock, intended to satisfy the musical tastes of a diverse group of people. On Friday, music will be from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Whole Enchilada Fiesta has been recognized as one of the top 100 events in the United States, and is the 3rd largest in New Mexico. The enchilada holds the title in the Guiness Book of World Records for the largest enchilada, which helps to draw over 40,000 people from over 20 states to this event.
This year’s fiesta is very much a family oriented event. With musical performances, craft booths, a carnival and New Mexico’s largest parade, you will be sure to find something for everyone.
