Harvest Cooking Class
April 6, 2-4 p.m.
Enjoy a variety of creative recipes in our very popular monthly cooking class. This month’s recipes feature asparagus, papaya, and rhubarb. Carol Koenig is the chef. Pre-registration is required. $35.
Monthly Lecture Series: Mabel Dodge Luhan
April 8, 7 p.m.
Rosemary Keefe will perform as Mabel Dodge Luhan (1879-1962) in a Chautauqua in the Museum’s theater. Luhan was a native of New York who lived a colorful life among authors and writers, and who helped secure Pueblo land rights and preserved Indian culture. Admission is a suggested donation of $2.
Exhibit opening: George Gray: Son of a Cowboy
April 15, 6-8 p.m.
The works of Las Cruces artist George Gray are featured in the Museum’s Arts Corridor beginning with a free reception on April 15. The Son of a Cowboy exhibit includes 27 works of art, including paintings in oil, acrylic, and water color, and pen-and-ink. Gray’s paintings reflect his life growing up on a ranch near Estancia, N.M., and feature western scenes, landscapes and Native Americans. Gray also has created religious art for various local churches and designed the Great Seal of Dona Ana County in the 1950s.
